The Role Of ‘Ahilik’ in Establishing Social Peace in The Balkans 

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

SEPTEMBER 21-23, 2012

Ahilik (Akhism) has been an efficient organization in the geography of Anatolia and Rumelia for almost 500 years. This institution which was very powerful in the areas of politics, economics, ethics, and in the military field, has also been an effective and decisive organ in the formation of social life and in the development of state and society organizations.

The primary objective of this symposium is to present, share and negotiate the ideas according to the regulations drawn from 500 years of experience, in terms of current socio-economic and political life, and organizing their life cycle. In addition, it is expected from academic studies that; with the aim of developing practical application models and examining the principles and social structure of Ahi Community, beneficial results will be adapted to the current conditions and practical applications. The symposium languages are English, Turkish and Bosnian.
